The Rainbow Trust Cake Sale

Raising money for charity

The Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.

Since Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity was founded in 1986 they have supported approximately 15,000 families all over England. It all started when Bernadette Cleary, Rainbow Trust’s founder, was a friend to a neighbor in need.

A word from Rainbow Trust’s founder, Bernadette Cleary.

“I am enormously proud of all the fundraisers, Family Support Workers and silent heroes who have made it possible for Rainbow Trust to give every child we support an enhanced quality of life during their illness.

Of course it is the families we help that make Rainbow Trust the special organization that it continues to be; one of the joys of working with children, even in their dying days, is that each day is taken as it comes. They fill each moment with all manner of things; I have played cards, gone Christmas shopping and undertaken whirlwind tours of leisure parks all in the last twenty-four hours of life.”

The Rainbow Trust charity fundraisers came to Quorum and hosted a delicious cake sale outside of Q9 to help raise money for the cause. They managed to raise over £150 so a phenomenal effort and a huge thank you to everyone that purchased a cake!

Quorum staff were offered a delicious Honey Bee Breakfast as part of our Wildlife Day using honey made by our very own bees!

Falconry Days Birds of Prey Display

Part of Quorum’s Wildlife Day

Check out a video here:
As part of Quorum’s Wildlife Day we had a wonderful opportunity to invite Falconry Days to unlock some of the mystery and allow you to get really close to these amazing creatures and at the same time promote the sport and wellbeing of birds of prey, both in the wild and in captivity.

Quorum staff enjoyed a unique falconry experience giving you a rare insight into the art of falconry. We had the opportunity to get really close to, and hands on with a range of Owls, Hawks, and Falcons.

Whether your interest is in falconry, birds of prey, bird watching, and wildlife, Falconry Days had something of interest to offer you at their phenomenal display.

Samantha Farrar, the Ad Check Team Leader at Ebiquity said “It’s assured that we all had a fun-filled afternoon (and rather sore bodies the next day!)”

Newcastle Falcons Community Foundation Summer of Rugby

Weekly Touch Rugby Sessions at Quorum

The Falcons Community Foundation are pleased to announce the details of our Summer of Touch 2014

What is Touch Rugby?

Touch is Rugby’s answer to 5-a-side football – it’s fast, exciting, enjoyable, involves no contact and can be played by both young & old, males & females. Squads are made up of ten players, with 6 on the field of play at any one time. Touch Rugby is such an easy game to play that even if you have never played rugby before you will have no problem picking it up. This year will see sessions ran through out Tyne and Wear to wet the appetite of keen players, players looking for a new team or a team looking a few players to complete their squads. It’s a great way of keeping fit or getting fit while enjoying an evening in the summer sunshine with friends.

Quorum are hosting Touch Rugby Sessions run by the Falcons Community Foundation on the grass next to the Outdoor Gym every Wednesday throughout Summer, free to play, there’s no excuse not to pop down and give it a try!
