Volunteers from the Hub and across Quorum joined trust volunteers at Druridge Bay as part of the national Clean for the Queen campaign
Clean for the Queen is a national celebration marking the Queen’s 90th Birthday, as part of the UK wide clean up operation, Northumberland Wildlife Trust issued a call to arms for local volunteers to help clean up some of our local coastline.
Quorum volunteers from The HubTeam and onsite tenants Balfour Beatty Business Services joined Trust members in collecting over 135 bags (445.75 kg ) of rubbish and 20 lobster pots from reserves along the bay.
Hard working volunteers were rewarded with free tea and coffee from The Drift Cafe based over the road from the event meet up point, they even donated 20% of the days food profits to the Trust.
Quorum has a long history of supporting the Northumberland Wildlife Trust as part of their ongoing sustainability policy. In the summer we donated all proceeds from selling our onsite honey to the trust.
Watch this space to learn more about further volunteering opportunities with the Trust and other local organizations, some of which will take place on site at Quorum.
